Disability Services / Adult Protective Services SUPERVISOR: Unit
Manager UNION REPRESENTATION: SEIU P OSITION PURPOSE : The Adult
Protective Services (APS) Coordinator works with a team of
dedicated professionals to support the APS unit with tasks
associated with conducting abuse investigations and providing
protective services for older adults and adults with disabilities.
This position assists the APS team with administrative tasks,
supports access to services at Senior & Disability Services and
external community partners, and conducts field work to further
investigations and protective services. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum High
School Diploma or GED AND any combination of education and/or
experience that provides the occupant with the desired skills,
knowledge, and proficiency needed to perform the job. Two years of
equivalent combination of education and/or experience that
demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required OR an AA
degree (or higher) with an emphasis in human services, social,
behavioral, or criminal sciences. OR one year (or more) related
experience providing social services or service-related work, or
working or volunteering with seniors and/or people with
disabilities Basic computer skills and comprehension Valid state of
Oregon driver's license Must pass a background check Professional
Competencies ATTENTION TO DETAILS: Ability to organize, plan, and
coordinate multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
DECISION MAKING: Ability to make decisions and elicit pertinent
information in interviewing situations while allowing dignity and
respect. COMMUNICATION: Excellent written and oral communication
skills. PROBLEM SOLVING: Ability to think creatively and respond to
a changing environment. EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATION SKILLS: Organizes
