Position Summary:
Portland Parks and Recreation is seeking a skilled and dedicated
Carpentry and Painting Supervisor to join our team. This position
is critical for overseeing the maintenance and repair of City park
facilities and infrastructure, including community centers, pools,
golf courses, sports centers, maintenance facilities, neighborhood
parks, and natural areas. The Carpentry and Painting Supervisor
will work with minimal supervision to ensure that all staff tasks
are performed efficiently and within established guidelines.

What you'll get to do:Supervise Daily Operations: Assign and
oversee the daily workload of staff, ensuring that tasks related to
carpentry and painting are completed effectively and in accordance
with organizational goals.
- Project Management: Plan and manage workloads, overseeing projects of varying sizes, and creating both short-term and long-term schedules to meet operational demands.
- Team Leadership: Lead a diverse team by providing day-to-day coordination and support, including scheduling, training, motivation, and mentoring to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all maintenance and repair work meet city, state, and OSHA standards by implementing safe working practices and training staff on safety procedures and proper equipment use.
- Program Coordination: Implement, coordinate, and supervise unit programs and functions, ensuring that critical tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Compliance and Standards: Keep up with current best practices
in general construction, maintenance standards, infrastructure
construction, and code compliance, to guide staff effectively in
their work.
