The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Maintenance and
Facilities Manager will provide leadership to the Environmental,
Health and Safety programs for our Beaverton & Traverse City, MI
locations for Saint-Gobain Life Sciences, within the defined World
Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework, and in a manner consistent
with the Principles of Conduct and Action.
Will ensure federal and local legislative compliance, ensure
functional cleanroom design and validated systems compliant with
ISO 14001 & ISO 13485 requirements, develop an autonomous EHS
culture, develop risk identification and reduction awareness and
methods for both safe work practices and equipment maintenance, all
achieved through participation and employee engagement, and with
strategic guidance from the central EHS function, local plant
manager and Engineering.
Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of
PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department
safety meetings. Exhibits good environmental practices and
procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental
Management System) requirements.
This role proactively drives awareness, communicates best
practices, and implements new programs related to Safety,
Facilities and Maintenance. Work to ensure safe behavior,
machinery, and regulatory compliance for EHS at the site. Supervise
effective utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment
involved in the servicing of manufacturing facility and
engineering. Maintaining and controlling of facility security
(physical and environmental).
The role will be responsible for development and execution of
department CAPEX and spends with guidance from the local site
manager and leadership team.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Safety Sciences, or
related field is required.
5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a
proven track record of success in reducing MTTR, increasing MTBF,
improving availability and equipment reliability while building a
strong and responsive team is required.
5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a
proven track record of success in reducing occupational injuries
and maintaining compliance with pertinent regulations is
required.
Strong Safety background and experience federal regulations and
reporting is required.
Prior supervisory experience required.
Experience with lean manufacturing desirable.
Experience with Michigan OSHA regulations and reporting is
preferred.
Prior background in project management is required.
Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical,
hydraulic and mechanical systems is required.
