Job Description:
JOB SUMMARYThis position performs the set-up, calibration,
testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments,
and optical-electrical-mechanical assemblies requiring the
application of circuit analysis techniques, measurement methods,
alignment techniques and documented procedures.DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES1. Calibrate instruments to manufacturing
specification(s) using fixtures, test equipment and documented
procedures.2. Troubleshoot and resolve the technical problems
encountered during the test and calibration phase of an instrument
build.3. Communicate effectively with Engineering, Assembly, and
Materials Planning in the timely resolution of technical
problems.4. Tests and troubleshoots circuits, components, and
optical/mechanical assemblies.5. Provide training and direction to
other technicians and assemblers where needed.6. Assist in writing
or modifying test procedures.7. Assist in engineering evaluation of
components, circuits, prototypes, first articles, quality
specifications, and modifications.8. Maintain department reporting
records.9. Write Change Proposals to suggest engineering or process
changes where required.OTHERRESPONSIBILITIES:1. Complies with all
quality policies, procedures, and work instructions for this
position.2. Performs other work-related duties as required.POSITION
INTERACTIONSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES/INFLUENCE ON
OTHERS:Technical troubleshooting and recognition of appropriate
corrective action are the most important decision-making challenges
in this position. The alignment and test of components and systems
to specification(s) comprise the actions taken in this position.
This position has the authority to determine that material is
discrepant, that assembly re-work is necessary, or that Engineering
corrective action is necessary. Proper communication of the
conditions requiring corrective action and the impact to schedule
