Summary - The Workforce Development Coordinator will be responsible for developing a workforce for Field roles, including general laborers, helpers, Journeymen and Apprentices who safely produce top quality installations in the Roofing and Metal Divisions of Flynn Companies. Providing strong and effective communications, resulting in a motivated, skilled, and supported workforce in the field roles.

• What we are seeking
• Knowledge in Construction, including Commercial Roofing and Metals-related Construction is a MUST.
• Demonstrated knowledge and success of Workforce Development in a CONSTRUCTION related setting
• Experience implementing training-related programs specific to Roofing and Metals Construction
• Experience in FIELD SUPERVISION of onsite trade work, including a focus on safety, quality, project schedules, material delivery and installation.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability adapt, lead and motivate workforce.
• Experience in creating accurate manpower schedules
• Ability to create a positive work environment
• Detailed understanding of employment laws and best practices related to hiring
• Bilingual a plus (Spanish)
• A Day in the Life
• Recruit and hire new Field and Shop employees, including orientation of all new hires.
• Act as primary Human Resources function for our Field workforce, including discipline, hiring, firing and layoffs
• Provide employees with accurate and consistent feedback
• Create continuous employee training based on new materials and processes
• Monitor and track employee retention rates
• Insure weekly hours are provided timely to the Payroll department
• Develop and maintain internship opportunities for college students
• facilitate orientation and onboarding for new employees, in collaboration with Human Resources Department
