JOB SUMMARY
This position performs assembly procedures associated with the
production of sophisticated capital equipment. Position requires a
strong mechanical aptitude for the building of custom products.
Must be able to effectively use all types of hand tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Interpret work instructions and drawings for the assembly and
set up of precision instruments.
2. Identify technical problems associated with assemblies,
sub-assemblies, and custom fabricated parts.
3. Soldering skills.
4. Use metrology hand tools to make precision adjustments.
5. Write and modify work instructions as needed.
6. Communicate effectively with Technicians, Engineers, Quality
professionals, other Assemblers, and various support group
personnel.
7. Write change proposals to suggest Engineering or process changes
where required.
8. If appropriate, may train less experienced technicians to the
standards and practices of our assembly work instructions.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Complies with all quality policies, procedures, and work
instructions for this position.
2. Performs other work-related duties as required.
POSITION INTERACTION
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES/INFLUENCE ON OTHERS:
Recognition of appropriate corrective action is the most important
decision-making challenge in this position. The build of components
and systems to specification comprise the actions taken in this
position.
CONTACTS/RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Daily: Technicians, Assemblers, Manufacturing
Engineering, Manufacturing Manager and material support group.
External: None
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in some technical trade or
hands on assembly work in a high technology company is
required.
2. Ability to work with minimal direction on sophisticated
instruments. Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic.
3. Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
