Job Title: Assortment Planner
Duration: 6 Months on W2
Location: Beaverton, OR

team, your contributions will be a big part of our success.
In this role you'll establish clear merchandise plans that tell a
story for the season and helps merchandising to create a line
grounded in profitability and consumer centric offering. This will
include collaborating with the merchandising and business units to
develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that aligns future
financial plans and product opportunities. You'll create pre-season
style plans that support the ultimate goal of our client Direct.
You'll recap and analyze the business against the financial plan,
and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a
weekly/monthly/quarterly basis. In addition, you'll develop monthly
forecasts of sales and inventory for all basic and fashion styles
and will develop strategies to meet department financial goals and
own open to buy
forecasts.
This role will include presenting financial plans, forecasts and
strategies in key meetings. You'll proactively report on the health
of the business and facilitate smart business decisions,
communicate financial results, forecasts, and action plans to
managers and cross-functional team members on a weekly basis.
You'll collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information,
share best practices and develop systems knowledge. In addition,
you'll participate in a team structure that facilitates and
maximizes individual and team performance, supporting and fostering
an open and inclusive environment that embraces diversity,
encourages accountability, and drives toward results.
Key Accountabilities
Support product forecasting & pricing processes by managing
reporting tools, analyzing data, & providing actionable
insights
Report on forecast variance weekly
Construct and maintain reporting tools for use across the planning
team
Manage weekly markdown process across portfolio, in system and
alignment with stakeholders
Monitor price positioning across the marketplace and across the
product portfolio, taking actions to adjust in accordance with
overall pricing strategy
Support monthly and seasonal inventory management activities
Actively manage product; close-out process and aging inventory
Qualifications:
Base Expectations
3-5 years of professional experience
BS in technical or semi-technical field such as Economics, Finance,
Engineering, etc.
Microsoft Excel at high-intermediate to advanced level
Ability to independently drive toward a clear outcome with an
unclear path
Natural tendency to organize information coming from various
sources and owners into clean process to drive repeatable,
sustainable outcomes
Comfort in working across multiple data sources to deliver an
analytical outcome
Highly Preferred
Experience working in a retail environment
Intermediate to advanced data manipulation skills SQL, Tableau,
database manipulation tools (e.g., Alteryx), Snowflake
Experience with SAP (or other planning package)
Experience communicating to a variety of non-technical
audiences
Duties:
Develop, execute and communicate financial plans and strategies
that support the buying, marketing and financial objectives of
assigned category or area of responsibility. Analyze historical
data and current trends to identify current and future risks and
opportunities for the business. Meet or exceed financial goals by
creating plans that drive sales, bottom line-profitability, and
inventory targets. Collaborate with key business partners to
develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that aligns future
financial and product opportunities. Recap and analyze actual sales
results to plan, and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a
weekly/monthly/quarterly basis. Present financial forecast and
supporting action plans in meetings. Frequently communicate
financial results, forecasts, and action plans to management and
cross-functional partners. Create clear, comprehensive product
plans that develop brand stories and influence buyers to create
profitable, consumer-focused product lines
Skills:
3 years relevant retail experience in company planning, merchandise
planning, allocation or merchandising. Typical Office: This is a
typical office job, with no special physical requirements or
unusual work environment.
