Join Central City Concern as a HR Assistant (Contract; Part-Time)

  • Duration of Contract: 3 - 4 Months
  • Hours (Weekly): 21 Hours
  • Schedule (Monday, Wednesday - Friday): 10am - 2pm
  • Schedule (Tuesday): 8am - 1pm
  • Reports Directly To: Executive HR Coordinator

    The HR Assistant is integral to the day-to-day front desk/administrative operations of the Human Resources (HR) team and Central City Concern's New Employee Orientation (NEO) program.

    This is a part-time (21 hours), contract position (3-4 month duration) and a valuable opportunity for highly detail-oriented, purpose-driven professionals looking to develop a career in Human Resources.

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the HR Assistant Include:
    • Serving as a brand ambassador for all Central City Concern (CCC) guests, vendors and service providers, and employees entering CCC's Administration building
    • Assisting with activities essential to the execution of Central City Concern's New Employee Orientation (NEO) Program
    • Confidently managing inbound/outbound phone calls; routing incoming calls to their appropriate destination (employee) within the building
    • Handling/organizing mail (e.g. invoices and sensitive documents); routing documents to their appropriate destinations within CCC
    • Partnering with CCC's Donor Relations team; providing formal documentation/reporting of donor contributions
    • Provide day-to-day support to employee and manager populations on a vast array of HR-related inquiries and emails
    • Uphold and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality
      • Distribute payroll checks to CCC employees
        • Assisting with any/all additional tasks/responsibilities assigned by the Executive HR Coordinator

          Minimum Qualifications (Requirements):
          • High school diploma or completion of G.E.D. Human Resource Management degree or certificate preferred
          • Minimum 2 years of HR/Admin experience, preferably in various HR disciplines
          • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
          • Demonstrated proficiency with sending (and responding to) emails
          • Must be able to lift boxes up to 50 pounds
          • Must adhere to agency's non-discrimination policies
          • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, life-styles and sexual orientations and treat each individual with respect and dignity
