CCC's Puentes program is seeking a Full Time Recovery Mentor A&D Counselor!

$3,000 Hiring Bonus!

Puentes provides culturally specific services to Latinos in recovery through alcohol and drug treatment and mental health care to individuals and to the entire family in a way that mitigates stigma and fear. Puentes staff are bilingual and bicultural; they understand Latino values, family roles and community structures helping Latino/a/x clients gain insight into cultural influences on behavior.

This position requires abilities and skills both as Alcohol and Drug (A&D) Counselor and as Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM). The Counselor under this position works as a member of the Puentes treatment team to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to Latino adults with substance abuse issues.

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 11:00am-7:00pm; Tuesday and Friday 9:00am-5:00pm(*evening times reflect group sessions adapted for clients)

Duties to include:

  • Participate in culturally specific outreach efforts to engage prospective clients.
  • Complete alcohol and drug assessments and develop culturally appropriate, strengths-based individual service and support plans (ISSP) with clients.
  • Maintain a caseload of clients and serve as their primary counselor from admission to discharge.
  • Provide group counseling on a weekly basis, focusing on several aspects of the disease of addiction, stages of change and recovery.
  • Collaborate and coordinate services with treatment team, community providers, and support networks to address the needs of clients.
  • Attend clinical staff meeting and case conferences in order to facilitate individual treatment plans for clients.
  • Advocate and provide referral services to assure that Latino community members get access to a variety of services and benefits, including mental health services.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of resources in the Latino community.
    Requirements:
    • Must have experience working with the Latino culture. Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
    • Must have CRM certification upon employment.
    • Must have a minimum of a CADC-R.
    • Must have current CPR certification or obtain before first day of employment.
    • Ability to adhere to Central City Concern's drug-free workplace adopted from Drug-Free Work Place Ace of 1988.An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance or alcohol.
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
    • The OAR prohibits A&D program staff from having within the previous 3 years a DUI conviction or diversion, a felony conviction, or a conviction under the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.

        Puentes brinda servicios culturalmente espec ficos a personas latinas en recuperaci n mediante el tratamiento por el abuso de drogas y alcohol y la atenci n de la salud mental a las personas y a toda la familia para mitigar el estigma y el miedo. Los empleados de Puentes son biling es y biculturales; comprenden los valores, los roles familiares y las estructuras comunitarias de los latinos y ayudan a clientes latinos/as/xs a comprender en profundidad las influencias que tiene la cultura sobre el comportamiento.

        El puesto requiere capacidades y habilidades como consejero sobre el abuso de drogas y alcohol ( Alcohol and Drug , A&D) y como Tutor de recuperaci n certificado ( Certified Recovery Mentor , CRM). El consejero de este puesto trabaja como miembro del equipo de tratamiento de Puentes para brindar servicios apropiados en t rminos culturales y ling sticos a los adultos latinos que tengan problemas de abuso de sustancias.

        Horarios: lunes, mi rcoles y jueves: de 11:00 a. m. a 7:00 p. m.; martes y viernes de 9:00 a. m. a 5:00 p. m. (*los horarios nocturnos reflejan las sesiones grupales adaptadas para los clientes).

        Tareas incluidas:
        • Participar en actividades de divulgaci n culturalmente espec ficas para llamar la atenci n de posibles clientes.
        • Completar evaluaciones de abuso de drogas y alcohol, y desarrollar planes de apoyo y servicios individuales ( individual service and support plans , ISSP) para clientes apropiados culturalmente y basados en las fortalezas.
        • Mantener una cantidad de clientes determinada y ser su asesor principal desde la admisi n hasta el alta.
        • Brindar consejer a grupal semanalmente, enfoc ndose en varios aspectos de la enfermedad de la adicci n, las etapas del cambio y la recuperaci n.
        • Colaborar y coordinar servicios con el equipo de tratamiento, los proveedores de la comunidad y las redes de apoyo para abordar las necesidades de los clientes.

          Requisitos:
          • Debe tener experiencia trabajando con la cultura latina. Debe ser biling e (ingl s y espa ol).
          • Debe tener una certificaci n de CRM en el momento de la contrataci n.
