Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, experienced EMI Measurement and Device Characterization Engineer to provide support to our Electromagnetics Group located at Maxim's Beaverton, Oregon Facility. This is a small group that provides EMI/EMC measurements for all Maxim Business Units, provides device characterization for both Advanced R&D and Business Units including PCB, sensor, on wafer and packaged parts.

Job Description:

Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:

* Manage the EMI/EMC measurements lab. This includes: * Working with internal customers to debug and achieve lower emissions and better immunity based on practical knowledge of EMI. This begins at IC and PCB design. Track design for EMI from initial concepts to measurements in EMI lab. * Teach and pass on info for EMI mitigation to all internal customers. * Supervise EMI measurement engineer and audit all outgoing data. * Perform EMI measurements including RE, BCI, cellular immunity, CE. * Create and manage calibration and verification schemes for EMI chamber and systems. * Complete understanding of the EMI standards issued by the governing bodies for all our measurements. * Business Unit customers: Hold seminars and maintain library of documents regarding design for low EMI. * Select appropriate field solver programs and utilize to help predict EMI for PCBs and ICs. * Experience in Allegro Layout for PCBs.

* Perform on-PCB and on-wafer measurements of devices and structures at microwave frequencies. * Utilize test software to perform calibrations and measurements using a VNA (Vector Network Analyzer). * Utilize Keysight ADS to optimize models for SMDs, PCBs, and other circuits using VNA measurements as a basis for modeling.

* Perform measurements using automated parameter analyzers with commercially available test software. * Be able to utilize and modify software using a typical platform such as Labview, Visual Basic, or Matlab. Control versions of software modifications using Engineering Change notices.

* Manage all purchases of new equipment including new asset identification, calibration and repair of existing equipment. * Experience with Labview (or other) programming for instrumentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

* MSEE, with PhD preferred, with at least 5 years in EMI/EMC including design of low EMI PCBs. * Specific experience in EMI measurements governed by CISPR 11,25, and 32. * Experience with 3D field solver software. * Experience using PCB layout tools to create high frequency test fixtures for devices.

Preferred Qualifications (additional to minimum requirements):

* PhD in Electromagnetics * Familiarity with, and previous use of, test executive software in measuring devices and transmission line structures from DC to microwave frequencies. * Experience in Scripting language such as Python, C, Matlab, etc.
