The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring products conform to established requirements and standards through appropriate audit, process development, validation, and test activities. Interacts with multiple cross-functional departments, customers, suppliers, and experts outside of Saint-Gobain to implement Saint-Gobain quality objectives.

Formulates procedures, specifications and standards for Saint-Gobain products and processes. Able to lead a cross-functional team to determine root cause, complete a corrective/preventive action plan and ensure the nonconformances do not reoccur. Strong technical writing ability as demonstrated through verification and validation protocols and reports. Update processes and procedures to ensure the quality system is in compliance with standards and regulations. Is the subject matter expert (SME) of ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820 regulations, quality systems, design assurance, verification and validation, FMEA, product testing methods and be able to provide guidance to others. Previous experience in a clean room environment and environmental monitoring a plus.

The Senior Quality Engineer may oversee Quality Specialists and/or Technicians depending on the needs of Saint-Gobains Quality Department.

Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings. Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Engineering required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years experience in an engineering role within medical devices or life sciences required (4 years of which should be within a quality role).
  • Ability to supervise and lead without authority required.
  • Subject matter expert for QSR/ISO regulations (ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, ISO 14971) required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, products, and product applications preferred.
  • The ability to work with a wide range of people required.
  • Strong in use of statistical techniques and Six Sigma/WCM tools.

Additional Description

  • Lead corrective/preventive action teams to ensure nonconformances do not reoccur.
  • Write technical protocols, reports, procedures and provide guidance to team members.
  • Lead internal, customer, supplier and regulatory audits.
  • Work with customers/suppliers to ensure needs are meet from a quality perspective.
  • Provide manufacturing process improvement solutions and implementation pathways.
