Overview: Currie & Brown is currently looking for a quantity surveyor for our office in Portland, OR. The successful candidate will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:Supporting new projects for quantity surveying, cost management and project management Providing reasoned advice on complex matters, understanding when to escalate matters to superiorsSupporting RFP responses, forecasting resources needed for proposals, preparing proposals and leading negotiationsSupporting client account management, monthly invoicing, purchase order management and reviewing contractual termsSupporting and preparing project cost estimates from conceptual through various stages of design using experience, historical data and parametric ratiosParticipating in industry benchmarking of project metricsSupporting and providing cost forecasting and cost control, managing contingencies and reporting to stakeholdersSupporting change order and claims review, including review and recommendation of entitlements in accordance with the contractual terms and conditionsProviding accurate cost advice and reporting to our clientsMaintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial controlDelivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely mannerRepresenting the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships

Qualifications: Requirements:BSc in quantity surveying, construction management or equivalent Membership of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), or equivalent preferred A minimum of eight years technical experience delivering large complex projectsPre- and post-contract experienceWorking knowledge of industry-standard software, such as planning and scheduling and cost management applicationsGood technical writing, client-facing and communication skillsWell-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astuteA team player with a can-do attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexibleCurrie & Brown is one of the worlds leading physical assets management and construction consultancies, dedicated to advising clients in respect of the management and utilization of their physical assets, and is differentiated by innovation, expertise and experience.With principal offices in Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, New York and Shanghai, we operate throughout the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, India and the Middle East.
