Job Description:

Robert Half is looking to add a Payroll Administrator to their Full Time Consulting Practice. In this role you would work as a full-time employee of Robert Half, on a project-to-project basis with Robert Half clients.
As a Consultant, you will be assigned to various clients to provide services that are appropriate for your skills and experience. We intend for each assignment to give you the chance to add value to the client and give you the opportunity to learn something new. Each assignment will vary in duration, but typically range from 1 month to 1 year in length.

Assignments would typically include:
Maintain and audit time keeping data and closes, sign off time-cards and export bi-weekly files to the payroll system
Gather payroll data from various sources and processes them for paycheck calculation
Enters direct deposit including pay card entries, and perform payroll entries such as deductions and refunds
Understand the Tax withholding requirements and set up the taxes for employees based on their work and resident locations
Interpret garnishment orders, understand disposable income and poverty level income threshold and sets up the garnishments to comply with the orders from the courts and other statutory entities
Perform routine audits and process adjustment entries (year-to-date taxes, taxable wages, earnings and deductions) on employee records
Assist with reconciling W-2's and other year-end activities
Issue immediate checks for employees in states that require immediate check at termination
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedure documents
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of payroll experience preferred
Proficiency in Excel
Previous experience in payroll processing software (ADP, UltiPro, etc.)
Solid analytical skills, excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism
Fluency with Tax withholding requirements; previous experience setting up taxes for employees based on their work and resident locations is also required
