Job Description:

We are looking for a Metal Buyer / Equipment Operator for a recycling facility in Tualatin. In this role you will assist the Metals Program Manager in the purchase and process of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, operating a safe and efficient processing facility. This position will be trained. You will learn to buy metal scrap from copper to brass. This is an exciting role that will give you a real skill set. The ideal candidate will come with some forklift experience and a willingness to learn to drive larger equipment.-- Duties: Interface with customers Quote price of different metals (training provided) Move product or materials in and out of the warehouse using forklift and/or front-end loader (training provided) Load and unload designated trailers and/or trucks Examine, select, and purchase material at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements and other factors Enter data into computer system including purchases and sales Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor and maintenance crew Assist customers in the public depot and buyback area when needed Attend monthly safety meetings Daily inspection of site conditions to ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization Skills Required: Ability to learn how to operate a forklift and front-end loader Willingness to participate in job enhancement continuing education-- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus Working in an outdoor/warehouse environment Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted Schedule and Pay: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm Starting wage $19 / hour ** Benefits upon hire! --
