Job Description Job Description We are seeking anexperienced Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitionerto join a busy orthopedic service in Coos Bay, OR. This role offers a mix ofoperating room, inpatient, emergency department, and call coverage in a collaborativehospital-based setting. Position Details - Schedule Options: - 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts - Call Requirements: - 1–2 nights per week - Every third weekend - Night, weekend, and holiday call coverage required - Weekend Requirements: Yes Responsibilities - Order and interpret diagnostic studies including X-ray, CT, MRI, EMG, and bone scans - Perform orthopedic procedures such as digital blocks, joint injections/aspirations, closed fracture and dislocation reductions, casting, splinting, wound care, and minor outpatient surgical procedures - First assist in orthopedic surgeries, including tissue closure and application of orthopedic appliances - Provide inpatient care, conduct hospital rounds, write orders, and complete histories, physicals, and discharge summaries - Serve as primary orthopedic call for Emergency Department and inpatient services and participate in weekday, weekend, and overnight call rotation Requirements - Board Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Active Oregon state license Coos Bay, Oregon is ascenic coastal community known for its ocean views, outdoor recreation, andrelaxed lifestyle.
