The Merchant Manager role exists within 3 marketplace units (MPUs): Nike Direct (Nikes own retail business), Strategic Partners and Consumer Merchandising Teams working on the balance of market. For each, the role sits on a gender product merchandising team, responsible to translate seasonal strategy for the gender and marketplace unit into the optimal assortment for the respective consumers served. The role partners with Gender Merchandising leaders, cross-functional partners and MPU collaborators to strategize, manage and accelerate Nikes future vision for the North American marketplace! We are looking for someone that can drive a well-rounded strategic plan for the marketplace by using historical data, analytics, and real-time market feedback to advise and lead cross-functional partners. This role will focus highly on product, color and line plan details that help identify opportunities to grow the business and serve the Consumer better. The candidate should possess solid retail competence and analytical abilities and an understanding of retail environments starting with digital. They are comfortable overseeing and advising the work of individual contributors within a structured coaching framework, in addition to being a leader among their peers! What you will work on You will influence seasonal plans including product, pricing, flow, and concept or initiative's intent. You will understand related aspects of the business and marketplace in driving the marketplace strategy, including coordinating between genders, brands (Nike & Jordan) and how individual products or collections affect each other. Youll drive and support consumer-centric strategic plans with an understanding of the complete market, blending fact-based and intuitive inputs. You will participate in strategic planning, product reviews and feedback, seasonal teardowns, and planning submits. You will balance multiple seasons and your insights will contribute to future seasonal plans and adoption by supporting Gender Merchandising Leadership upstream (35%). You will manage your specific sport dimensions inclusive of launch, allocations, distribution, and overall marketplace strategy (45%) and gather insights from and support optimal trading of in-market seasons (20%).
