The our client Live Planning Manager is not your typical retail
planning role. It's got an element of strategic planning, mixed
with financial planning, assortment planning and just enough
allocation planning to be dangerous. There is no blueprint for this
role, it's yours to shape and mold. It's waiting for someone
interested in growing Brick & Mortar and Omni-Channel Retail. One
thing is for sure, it won't be boring!
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

entrepreneurial mindset.
This role sets the planning strategy for our our client Live store
concept and infuses that strategy across the gender led planning
and merchandising teams that manage our omni-channel Digital +
Stores business.
The candidate needs to be curious, have a tolerance for ambiguity
and possess the ability to work both collaboratively &
independently, while combining that with expertise in retail
planning and utilizing data analysis to drive decision making.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you'll be working with teammates from
Merchandising, Planning, Finance, Real Estate Supply Chain,
Marketing & Stores to exponentially and profitably grow our Live
store fleet while supporting our strategic objectives of driving
Women's and Apparel growth.
A typical day/week looks like:
You will build an assortment planning framework that adheres to
financial profitability guardrails.
You will partner with Stores Merchandising & Analytics to create a
store clustering strategy that provides direction for NDDC+ Gender
Merchandising teams to create consumer right assortments for all of
our Live doors.
You will lead the new store opening process, partnering with
Allocation Planning & Supply Chain.
You will bring a Test & Learn mentality to our in-season business
in order to advise on future assortment decisions and ensure
concept profitability.
You will ensure that all plans improve opportunities to grow both
Women's & Apparel.
Participate in our weekly Read & React meetings and advise on
actions needed back into the Gender planning and merchandising
teams.
You will inform inventory investments needed to support assortment
framework.
You will be the voice of reason in the room, supporting fact-based
decision making.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will report to the Sr. Director of NSO Planning & Allocations,
leading the holistic planning strategy for our our client Live
stores concept. Key partners will include teammates in Store's
Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Allocation & Concept
Development to develop the Live strategy. You will also build
positive relationships with NDDC+ Gender Planning & Merchandising
leaders to ensure end-to-end execution of our assortment
strategy.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
Minimum 5 years planning, allocation, business or retail
experience
2 years additional experience is generally accepted in lieu of a
degree
Proficiency with Excel, including setting up spreadsheets &
building sophisticated formulas
Strong analytic & problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize & manage time wisely in a fast-paced
environment
Ability to handle ambiguity
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Ability to travel up to 5%
Duties:
Assist Manager in leading the development, execution, and
communication of financial plans and strategies that support the
buying, marketing and financial objectives of multiple categories.
Meet or exceed financial goals by developing financial strategies
that drive sales, profitability, and inventory targets. Analyze
historical data and current trends to identify both current and
future risks and opportunities for the business. Collaborate with
key business partners to develop and communicate a comprehensive
strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities.
Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan, and forecast
in-season sales and inventories on a weekly/monthly/quarterly
basis. Present financial forecast and supporting action plans in
meetings. Frequently communicate financial results, forecasts, and
action plans to management and cross-functional partners. Mentor,
train, and serve as a knowledge resource for entry-level and
intermediate Planners.
Skills:
5 years relevant retail experience in company planning, merchandise
planning, allocation or merchandising. Typical Office: This is a
typical office job, with no special physical requirements or
unusual work environment.
