WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for an experienced Employee Relations ("ER") Director to join our Global Employment Law + Employee Relations team, supporting Nike Retail Stores in the Americas. An ER subject matter expertise is required to lead our Americas Retail Stores' team that educates and advises on Nike policies, investigates concerns about potential policy violations and other workplace behavior, and supports our teammates through challenging workplace situations. We are looking for a leader who enjoys leading and mentoring a team of ER professionals and evolving our work. You'll make daily decisions and recommendations that have a direct impact on stewarding the Nike culture. The position is located at Nike's World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON During a typical day, you could be carrying out a complex investigation, advising Human Resources partners on an employee scenario or meeting with a project team to develop a new process or policy guidance. You may find yourself conducting training for the ER team or business leaders or collaborating with key partners on ER data insights and trends. Your primary work will be to lead, coach, drive and inspire the ER team and show up as a leader who can share skills and knowledge in a manner that is credible and inspires trust and engagement. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH You will lead ER Senior Managers, Managers and Specialists and report to a Senior Counsel, Americas Employment Law + Employee Relations. In addition, you will partner closely with peer Directors, Employment Counsel and collaborate with HR teammates and business leaders. WHAT YOU BRING Required qualifications:

  • 8+ years varied/ advanced experience in Employee Relations or related business experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Psychology, Sociology, Industrial Relations or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • Deep expertise in conducting complex workplace investigations related to HR policies including discrimination, harassment and bullying. Investigations into other types of policy violations advantageous.
  • Experience in leading and developing high efficiency teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws.
  • Expertise in crisis management in relation to Employee Relations issues.
  • Strong business partner management, project management, and operational skills.
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential, advise regarding interpersonal and organizational complexities, and facilitate and deliver trainings.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills with shown success in influencing employees at all levels of the organization.
  • A solid teammate with the ability to collaborate cross functionally in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate interventions that reflect systemic thinking.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a wider Global Employee Relations team. Preferred qualifications:
    • Large corporation (20,000+ employees) Human Resources, Employee Relations and/or Employment Law experience
