JOBCalling all introverts, extroverts, athletes, musicians, naturalists, scientists, actors, and anyone else interested in working in a summer camp program! The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) seeks team-oriented, creative, and enthusiastic individuals to create quality summer camp experiences for kids in the Beaverton area. This is a fantastic employment opportunity for individuals looking to improve their leadership skills in a summer camp setting. Many summer camp employees return year after year and our senior camp directors mentor junior camp leaders to ensure a successful 2021 camp season. Staff should be prepared to work, outside, in various environmental conditions each week. Staff may be required to wear a mask and should be prepared to demonstrate physical distancing standards in line with current guidelines and requirements to keep all staff and participants safe. Staff should also be prepared to assist with the daily cleaning and sanitization of restrooms, equipment and program supplies in order to maintain the health and safety of all participants and staff. We are hiring for year-round positions and seasonal positions. Year-round staff may be scheduled up to 29 hours per week, year-round starting in mid-June. Seasonal employees maybe scheduled up to 40 hours per week for a maximum duration of 6 consecutive months. Hours are typically Monday Friday, 8am to 5pm. Seasonal employment will be scheduled the week of June 21 and continue through September 3. The fine print: you must be at least sixteen years old to apply; you must love working with kids; and you must be able to work outside, rain or shine. Camp Directors and Assistant Directors provide oversight and supervision to both participants and staff while working closely with parents and administrative staff. Job Openings: Camp Assistant Director is responsible for the development and implementation of assigned recreation program, classes, or activities. Incumbents in this job classification work independently, within established guidelines to develop, coordinate, supervise and instruct the day-to-day activities of assigned program area and provide lead direction to assigned part-time staff and/or volunteers.Pay Range: $14.46-$16.27 (Rate as of July 1, 2021 $14.75-$16.60) Camp Director, Environmental Education Director is responsible for the development and implementation of assigned recreation programs. Incumbents in this job classification work independently, within established guidelines to develop, coordinate, supervise, and instruct the day-to-day activities of assigned program areas and provide lead direction to assigned part-time staff and volunteers.Pay Rate Range: $15.94-$17.94 (Rate as of July 1, 2021 $16.26-$18.30) For more information regarding job duties and qualifications please review the hyperlinked job description.
