The Director, Data Science will develop and implement new capabilities to enable data-driven and consumer-led decisions for North America's (NA) commercially oriented functions. This organization is tasked with helping to define and shape the future of the marketplace and helping to balance important tradeoffs for a successful commercial approach in the geography. As the Director, Data Science you will set department's strategy to enable the design of scalable, end-to-end analytics solutions.

  • Anticipate, identify and facilitate the solution to enterprise issues concerning critical business needs
  • Own relationships with key business partners to understand and anticipate current and future business needs
  • Effectively communicate with leadership across organizations both influencing the end-to-end solutions and protecting the interest of the department
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire team(s); managing performance, goals, and development potential as well as evaluate and hire new talent
  • Create and foster an environment that values and promotes autonomy, skill mastery, empowerment, transparency, innovation, and continuous learning WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH? You will be on the leadership team of NA's Commercial Analytics team, which is part of both NA Consumer Insights & Analytics as well as Global Commercial Analytics. In addition to supporting the North America business functions, you will also collaborate with your peers in analytics, other geographies, product management, and technology. Core stakeholders include our marketplace partner teams, Product & Merchandising, Demand & Supply Management, Finance, and Operations teams. WHAT YOU WILL BRING? Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field OR two additional years' experience in lieu of a degree (Advanced degree is a plus)
    • 8 years of hands-on engineering experience developing BI systems and working with big data
    • Deep knowledge and experience with a diversity of tools and platforms (Prefer experience w/ Python, Spark, AWS or other cloud environments)
    • Experience leading multiple teams and the development of complex solutions
    • Experience working in an Agile methodology and/or leading Agile teams is preferred
    • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms and a specialist in understanding of solution and technical design
    • Experience working with big data in parallel processing, building solutions using data and platform services
    • A strong problem solving and analytical approach with the ability to quickly pick up new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks
    • Ability to influence and communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with team members, business stakeholders and leadership
