Who Are We Looking For?

We're looking for an experienced Communications professional to join Nike's Global Corporate Communications team in the role of Communications Manager, Global Advanced Innovation. The ideal candidate brings strong internal and external communications experience and is a proactive self-starter, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and flexing their priorities to meet changing demands, a highly collaborative team player, and passionate about engaging Nike employees through communications.

What will you work on?

You will help lead the employee communications for Nike's President of Innovation, the Innovation leadership team and the employees that work in the organization. You'll be responsible for building strategic, integrated communications plans to engage this employee base, working with a global team of communications professionals and using multiple channels/platforms with a strong focus on creating compelling storytelling. The role will also support the team's broader communications initiatives, both internal- and external-facing, including reviewing and owning external engagements, developing messaging, assisting with media events, etc. You'll report into the Global Advanced Innovation Communications Senior Director.

Responsibilities will include:
Develop innovative and targeted communications strategies, messages and tactics that engage employees, support brand and business goals and showcase Nike's leadersDevelop and support key communications content including messages from leadership, org announcements, storytelling for the intranet and other channels, e.g. podcasts, LinkedIn, Nike News, etc.Lead and support employee engagement events (e.g. all-hands meetings, etc.)Support the Global Advanced Innovation team's work portfolio including assisting with writing, messaging, media events, etc.In partnership with the senior director, create and manage the thought leadership strategy for Global Advanced Innovation, including developing external plans for new innovation capabilities and reviewing external engagement requestsSupport Nike's global reward and recognition program for the Global Advanced Innovation teamWork with partners to unlock strategic narratives and storylines, including close partnership with business and functional leaders and HR, strategy and legal teamsTrack and execute communications plans against timelines and budget

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, PR, English, Communications, or related discipline5+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications and/or public relations roles supporting globally branded organizations2 additional years of experience required in lieu of a degreeComfortable dealing with ambiguity and working in a dynamic environmentProactive self-starter, independent and resourcefulExperience working with executives to provide strategic counsel, socialize ideas and strengthen relationships and rapportDemonstrated experience writing and editing across a variety of formatsProven ability to communicate plans across a complex stakeholder matrix Strong understanding of communications platforms and digital landscapePassion for the Nike brand and working for a purpose-driven companyHighly collaborative team playerStrong written and spoken English requiredAbility to travel, 10-15%
Preferred:
Knowledge of footwear or apparel industryExperience working on high profile consumer brandsOn-the-ground media/PR experience with ability to communicate clearly as a company spokesperson both on and off camera
