WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

The person in this role should have strong experience in senior level HR communications and strategy, strategic media relations, leading a team, managing complex information, message and strategy development and excellent writing skills. This role requires a very strong communicator with deep multi-channel experience and experience building and leading teams.

The ideal candidate understands how to connect, communicate with and engage all employees through HR's strategic functions (Total Rewards, Talent & Org Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, HR Service & Operations, Employee Relations).

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

Reporting to the VP, Employee Communications, the Senior Director of HR Communications will lead and drive a strategy to engage and inspire employees and drive a key people and culture narrative for Nike.
Create a strategic communications vision for the HR organization and key strategic communications deliverables for HR across the NIKE, Inc. Create an employee and external strategic communications strategy for HR to connect with all NIKE, Inc. employees, as well as a communications strategy to connect HR with HR Lead and drive tactical execution of communications strategy with HR Communications team. Work with external partners to drive key narrative and storylines where relevant Support all communications for NIKE, Inc.'s Chief Human Resources Officer (employee and external) and the HR Leadership Team. Drive employee communications strategies for all HR Vice Presidents to engage and inspire their employees Create strong narrative for HR and lead strategic storytelling for employees and externally, including driving select media interviews and externally speaking engagements when appropriate Manage communications strategy and execution for Nike's employment brand internally and externally across multiple channels Build, lead, drive and inspire diverse, global HR communications team Communications support for the team including writing, Q&As, press releases and speech writing

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE: (Qualifications for the ideal candidate)

15+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting globally branded organizations

Extensive experience in employee/internal and corporate communications preferred with a strong focus on HR communications and support for CHRO Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures Experience initiating and driving the ideation process and contributing meaningful, innovative strategies to the business at concept stage Successful experience in working effectively at a very senior level with a proven ability to help provide guidance and direction to peers On the ground media/PR experience with ability to communicate clearly as a company spokesperson both on and off camera Very strong writing skills required Strong written and spoken English required Experience leading communications strategy for major events, media outreach and across multiple vendor relationships including website management and content creation Deep understanding of both evolving consumer communications environment and digital landscape Experience working on high profile consumer brands is preferred Bachelor's degree in journalism, PR, English, communications, business, or related field is preferred

Ability to Travel, 20%
