Description As a Lead Engineer in the structural discipline, you
will ultimately leverage your in-depth knowledge of engineering and
construction, strategic thinking, collaborative skills, and strong
communication acumen to manage projects through completion and
develop construction documents. The responsibilities of this
position include: Utilize knowledge and experience in the design of
industry standard structural design media including timber, steel,
concrete, and masonry to develop construction documents for
projects ranging from private residences to K-12 campuses and
commercial developments. Perform structural calculations and
prepare calculation packages for jurisdictional approval. Manage
project delivery and utilize staff in a team atmosphere to produce
projects from concept through construction including project status
monitoring, tracking staff schedules and workload, project
deadlines, and completing projects on time and on budget. Lead
project development through standard design processes (schematic
design, design development, and construction documents). Review
construction documents for compliance with applicable codes such as
the International Building Code (IBC), Oregon Structural Specialty
Code (OSSC), ASCE 41, AISC Manual of Steel Construction, ACI-318,
and National Design Specification for Wood Construction (NDS).
Follow projects through construction through review and processing
of RFI's, material submittals, and periodic on-site construction
observation. Collaborate with project partners (in-house
disciplines, owners, architects, sub-consultants, etc.). Assist and
instruct entry level staff on technical and project management best
practices. Perform Project Manager duties as required. The above

the Company. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil
engineering from and ABET accredited university required. 5 years
minimum post graduate structural engineering experience in a
consulting firm that provides structural engineering services for
low to mid-rise structures (preferred but not required). PE/SE is
preferred but not required. Critical thinking with engagement
skills coupled with detailed execution of concepts in a deadline
driven arena. Strong, experienced writer. Must possess strong
technical skills and have an aptitude for project management.
Ability to travel (occasionally) as we support projects throughout
the state. Valid driver's license required. Proficiency with
AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, basic element design packages
such as EnerCalc or StruCalc, and advanced analysis and design
packages such as RISA or STAAD Pro. Physical Requirements The

Repetitive use of hands and fingers (i.e. keyboarding, date entry).
Must be able to see and hear to gather and input information;
respond to face-to-face and telephone inquiries. Must be able to
drive and have a valid driver's license. Must be able to
occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing a
maximum of 50 pounds. Able to work in low light conditions, with
desk lamps versus overhead lighting. Ability to walk throughout a
warehouse floor following our internal safety guidelines.
