Overview
Code Unlimited, a Jensen Hughes company, has a newly created
opportunity for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer in our Seattle,
WA orPortland, OR office locations. This is a strategic growth
position that calls for an experienced candidate with the ability
to work directly with clients and perform their own technical work
(Seller/Doer). Remote and hybrid work options are available in the
West Coast for experienced Fire protection engineers with client
connections and business development capabilities.

Responsibilities
Management and implementation of a wide variety of consulting
projects. Lead a team of 2-5 on variety of projects
Satisfy client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks
on schedule and within budget.
Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses,
including plan reviews and site visits.
Preparation and peer review of project-related technical
reports.
Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design
approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client design
issues.
Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and
others.
Mentor and train junior staff
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Mechanical,
Chemical or Fire Protection)
Registered Professional Engineer or other professional designation
in Fire protection is required.
10+ years of experience in Building Code and Fire Protection
Consulting.
The ideal candidate will be a "Doer Seller", with client
connections and ability to develop new business
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in developing building code concepts and equivalencies,
conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field
reviews/inspections.
Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection
engineering strategies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, enjoy
professional challenges, and endeavor to be an integral part of the
long-term growth of Jensen Hughes.
