The incumbent enables Operations and other departments across the technology organization to efficiently transition and operate services across multiple environments and datacenters. The DevOps Engineer provides technical leadership to other groups within the department including Configuration Management and Systems Operations.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and maintain automated and repeatable processes supporting the Technology Organization including development, change management, systems administration and network engineering workflows.Select, configure, develop, support and scale the tools and technologies used to build a highly scalable and manageable environment.Provide planning, coordination and automated framework for configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing new and existing services.Automate and streamline software integration and deployment processes.Participate in software design process to ensure high availability and maintainability are a part of the design.Automate existing support and event management processes enabling smooth systems operation across multiple datacenters.Ensure adequate visibility into application viability and performance via monitoring, and incident and problem management. Participate in planning and execution of service performance testing.Provide architectural expertise and transition documentation, including deployment, validation and configuration instructions, and monitoring plans to Service Operations and Configuration Management teams.QualificationsBasic Requirements:Bachelor degree in computer science, information sciences or related field or equivalent experience2 years of experience selecting and evaluating emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products.2 years of implementing DevOps processes in a technology organization2 years of experience in IT process automation2 years of experience with SQL and relational databases.2 years of Experience with network and server operating systems, including Windows & Linux.1+ Experience with TeamCity, Jenkins or Bamboo, Ansible or similar tools.Solid knowledge of continuous integration patterns and tooling.Excellent scripting skills including Bash, Ruby or Python and PowerShell, or similar.Strong experience with source control tools, preferably GITStrong understanding of the software development and release processPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with production Operations departments in a high availability environment.Development experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, SalesForce or similar workflow management tools.Development experience with Zenoss, Prometheus, Splunk, or similar monitoring tools.Experience with Influx or other time series databases including sql, influxql, fluxlangExperience developing and executing load and performance tests in .Net / Windows / SQL or Java / Linux / Oracle environment.Experience with distributed tracing and application monitoring tools - DataDog, AppDynamics, Dynatrace or similarWe are currently working from home. Offices are open to those who want to go in with health safety protocols in place.
